Creative writing adventures - Day 1
During this interesting time we are all experiencing due to the corona virus outbreak where shelter in place is here for the foreseeable future, one of the best parts of my day is when my kid spins the wheel on http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/story-starters/ and picks a theme for a creative writing piece. We both write for about 15-20 minutes and share our stories once done. Here are the ones I wrote so far.
List 5 characteristics of a brainy owl who is a tour guide in your neighborhood
Ollie is our fabulous guide who makes all our lives easy. She is the most knowledgeable, hardworking and friendly creature we barn owls can count on.
Having been born in this forest Treeland, which we all proudly call our home, she is a true local. Her family has lived here for generations and our tight knit community depends on each other on a daily basis.
Ollie is our guide to finding the best places to set up nests, hunt for food and get together. With her sharp eyesight and wits, she is able to scout out areas of the forest where we won’t be bothered by other predators and most importantly humans!
We can all find plentiful food, shelter and even gather as a community to play games and spend some time together.
Ollie truly makes a difference in our lives by being kind and generous with the amount of time she devotes to working with our community. When we all have enough food gathered, we can get through hard times when the snow blankets the earth and food is scarce. We love you Ollie!!!
